My judgement upon it is fourfold: firstly, that it is an amazingly faithful adaptation of the original stories; secondly, that it has, in an indeterminate measure, heavily influenced the Moff and Godtiss in their efforts to perfect the already perfect programme known simply as Sherlock; thirdly, that it is so ludicrously fucking fabulous as to approach perfection in as near a form as an earthly creation of man can achieve; and last, that Jeremy Brett should, in a righteous universe, be gifted with any awards that may be found in the immediate vicinity of the human race, and that any non-human sentient species with such a concept as awards should contribute in some measure as well, so that Jeremy Brett may be gifted with all the awards.
